President, Dominican University College < Back

Dominican University College (DUC), first established in Ottawa, Ontario in 1900, by the Canadian Province of the Dominican Order, is one of the oldest university colleges in the nation’s capital whose roots lie at the very beginning of the development of universities in Europe. With its specialization in philosophy and theology, DUC is devoted to the search for truth in an environment which nourishes critical thinking, amicable dialogue and a unique educational experience. This historical institution is located on a campus minutes from downtown Ottawa and Parliament Hill with another near Mount Royal in Montreal. DUC’s Mission Statement is to cultivate the habits of academic and human excellence, and to strive to develop versatile and critical minds that propose creative solutions to today’s complex problems, within a rich and vibrant Dominican tradition offering a fully bilingual environment while engaging openly with various disciplines, backgrounds and faiths in order that students can actualize their potential and change the world. http://www.dominicanu.ca/

Dominican University College also has a mutually beneficial affiliation with Carleton University permitting students to access academic programs of the highest quality in their academic areas on each campus.
