Executive Director - Rideauwood Addiction and Family Services < Back
Rideauwood Addiction and Family Services opened in 1976 to support the Ottawa community affected by substance use issues. Early on, Rideauwood proved to be a pioneer in its field and began their services by recognizing that support was essential not only to the people consuming substances but their families and significant others. With those same principles in mind, Rideauwood continues to provide services by continuality aligning treatment programs and modalities to follow best practices, therefore not only evidence based therapeutic models are constantly reviewed but also the ongoing development of partnerships and collaborations to improve client access and increase the supports available for clients.

This outstanding community resource is now seeking a compassionate, experienced Executive Director to lead the organization forward, and to enhance its relationships with the communities they serve, key partners and a wide and growing range of stakeholders.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will be a respectful, collaborative and strategic leader, focused on delivering of the ongoing and evolving mission, financial objectives, program goals and provision of the highest quality of service to clients, families and the team of Rideauwood. A demonstrable track record of supporting a Board of Directors in its governance role is critical, as well experience serving as the primary spokesperson and representative for the organization.

The ideal candidate will have successfully led other organizations operating in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, ideally experience with a union environment and closely related to the addictions/mental health care field. As well, the preferred candidate will bring superior management expertise and will have a solid record in communications, team development and community relations. A Masterís degree in Social Sciences, Health Administration, Education or Business is required, as is a minimum of five years of relevant senior leadership experience and a minimum of five years within a not-for-profit organization.
